A first haircut in support of our More Than a Playground campaign

Ossian, a Year 8 pupil at William Ellis, had never had a haircut before but after twelve years of growing he has decided to get it cut for the very first time to kick off the community fundraising for our playground redevelopment campaign.

Inspired by the school motto ‘Rather use than fame’ and the desire to help create better outdoor spaces for his friends and himself to use he decided now was the right time to cut his hair. His hair is being donated to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children who have lost theirs through cancer treatment.

All at the William Ellis Trust and the school are proud of Ossian taking the first step in our fundraising journey - a campaign by our community for the community. Please keep your eyes peeled for more fundraisers to come in the months ahead as the campaign gets under way. Please visit our supporting the fundraiser page if you would like to get involved with the campaign - we will be delighted to work with you to promote any of your fundraising endeavours.

If you would like to donate to the playground fundraiser in support of Ossian and his new haircut you can do so at the campaign donation homepage on the Charities Aid Foundation website here.

Thanks on behalf of the school community Ossian!
